My concern
A life of suffering, driven by external pressures and an inner emptiness
We live in a society with a high standard of material prosperity. Many of us pay for this prosperity with our well-being. The figures speak for themselves:
- 3.3 milliona Dutch people suffer from mental health issues, of whom 1.5 milliona are seriously considering suicide1,2;
- 2.2 millionb Dutch people are dissatisfied with their jobs3;
- 1.9 millionb Dutch people feel they are doing pointless work4;
- 1.6 million Dutch people suffer from burnout-related symptoms5;
- 1.5 milliona Dutch people are addicted to social media6;
- 1.3 million Dutch people use sleeping pills and sedatives7;
- 1 milliona Dutch people need narcotics to get through life8.
For too many people in our society, our current way of life causes pain, anxiety and sadness. What we have to do does not match what we want to do. How we have to be does not match how we want to be. What we have to live by does not match what we want to live by.
aThis figure has been calculated by multiplying a percentage by the population of the Netherlands as of 8 March 20249.
bThis figure has been calculated by multiplying a percentage by the number of people in employment in the fourth quarter of 202310.
My mission
Liberation, fulfilment & well-being
Through coaching, I aim to contribute to long-term well-being. During the coaching sessions, we explore the behavioural patterns, thoughts and beliefs that stand in the way of your well-being. We are guided by curiosity, honesty and respect, and we will rely on your inner strength and wisdom to overcome obstacles.
With peace towards recognition,
from recognition to insight,
from insight to growth
for well-being
Calmness is central to my approach. We take the time to allow the (inner) clamour of daily life to subside. This gives us the space to truly reflect on what you are feeling and what is going on inside you. From this place of calm and space, we can acknowledge what needs attention and gain the perspective needed to arrive at new insights.
You gain insight into your inner processes and what has driven you up to now. You explore which parts of this are truly your own and which parts have been learned or imposed by others. You then decide what you want to keep and what you are ready to let go of, as it no longer suits you. With these insights, you ultimately determine which steps you want to take to enhance your well-being.
